Acer elegantulum

Acer elegantulum is a small deciduous tree with purplish green leaves in spring, green summer foliage and stunning red fall color.  Acer elegantulum is related to Acer palmatum and has similar shaped, but large, leaves and becomes a small tree much faster than typical "Japanese" maples.  Acer elegantulum makes an excellent, elegant small specimen tree.  Acer elegantulum puts on a stunning fall display of intensely red leaves (one of the best fall colored plants we have in our gardens).  See photos for fall color.  Very limited supply.
