Acer palmatum 'Alan's Gold' Rare Spring Color Pinebark Japanese Maple Tree

'Alan's Gold' is a Garden treasures introduction. It is considered a pinebark Japanese maple where the leaves emerge bright orange. As the spring progresses, many of the leaves turn to a bright golden chartreuse. This is the first ever Acer palmatum to have both a brilliant spring color and a very cool pinebark. The pinebark on 'Alan's Gold' starts to develop around the 3rd or 4th year. As the tree gets older, this pinebark gives 'Alan's Gold' the appearance of being a much older tree.
