Acer palmatum 'Beni kumo no su’ is a small in stature, red weeping Japanese maple with finely cut leaves. With the onset of spring ‘Beni kumo no su’ leaves emerge electric red, that will turn a darker maroon as the leaves mature into summer. In the fall the leaves on ‘Beni kumo no su’ turn a bright scarlet red. While 'Beni Kumo No Su' is a small growing selection, it is faster growing than other Japanese maples with a similar traits. 'Beni Kumo No Su' should reach 4 ft high by 6 ft wide in 10 years. ‘Beni kumo no su’, which translates as “Red Spider’s Web”, was introduced by Del Loucks.
