Acer palmatum ‘Elizabeth’ leaves emerge in the spring a fiery bright red. As summer approaches 'Elizabeth' develops a bright lime green mid vein pattern that creates a great contrast with the red on the outside of the leaves. As the summer gets hotter, the foliage may turn greener, but new growth will continue to be the fiery bright red that is seen in the spring. ‘Elizabeth’ leaves turn a bright scarlet red in the fall that will be the talk of the neighborhood. ‘Elizabeth’ growth habit is very tight dense dwarf that will reach 3-4 ft high in 10 years. Since ‘Elizabeth's’ growth habit is so small it makes a great addition to conifer gardens, small spaces, and container plantings.
