Acer palmatum 'Koyuki' leaves are deeply divided with sharply pointed sub-lobes on the leaf resembling a snowflake. Leaves emerge in the spring as a bright cream white to light lime green with green reticulated variegation on the leaf. As the fall approaches the leaves of 'Koyuki' will turn pale orange to a light yellow. To allow the variegation in the leaves to continue into summer plant Acer palmatum 'Koyuki' in a protected area, free of the afternoon sun. Expect 'Koyuki Japanese maple to reach 8 to 10ft high in 15 years.
