'Krazy Krinkle' leaves emerge in the early spring as a bright yellow-green with a bright purple edge. By late spring the purple edge will fade, but the unique texture of the yellow-green leaves remain. 'Krazy Krinkle' is a upright Japanese maple with twisted leaves that are stiff and krinkled, almost like the leaves 'Shishigashira'. This selection is much more vigorous and narrower in habit than 'Shishigashira'. 'Krazy Krinkle' will reach 12-15 ft high in around 15 years. Fall colors are beautiful bright oranges to reds.
