Acer palmatum 'Tiger Rose' leaves emerge in the early spring with a rose blush that quickly fades away, showing a variegation of dark green on a yellow-green background. The leaves lean toward the heavy side of the matsumurae (The leaves are larger, normally with seven to nine lobes which are usually deeply divided to around three quarters of the leaf, or even to the leaf base) spectrum of Japanese maples.

In the fall leaves 'Tiger Rose' turn oranges and red in color. Expect 'Tiger Rose' to reach 10-12 ft high in 20 years making it a Japanese maple for every garden. For the best color display provide 'Tiger Rose' protection from the hot afternoon sun.
