Aucuba japonica 'Rozannie' (gold dust plant, Japanese laurel, spotted laurel) has lustrous, dark green foliage and showy red berries. Aucuba japonica 'Rozannie' is a great compact plant for your shade garden and is good for mass plantings, foundation plantings on the north side of your house, or as a specimen. Aucubas are great plants that will thrive in heavy shade.
