Callicarpa brevipes RARE

Callicarpa brevipes (beautyberry) is a RARE, unusual species of Callicarpa with extremely long, narrow green, tardily deciduous leaves.  Leaves are 8-10"+ long and about 2" wide.  We haven't grown Callicarpa brevipes long enough to see fruit production.  Growth habit is very upright and rather narrow - very different look than the more sprawling habit of most other Callicarpa species.  Callicarpa brevipes is great for the collector of cool foliage plants.

• HARDINESS: zones 7-9 guessing.  No available info on this species but hardy in Raleigh, NC
• EXPOSURE:  part shade, sun
• SIZE:  8-15' guessing.  Fast growing and can be pruned to keep smaller
• SHIPPING SIZE:  1/2 gallon pot.  20-22" plant.  See last photo for example.
