Cercis chinensis 'Kay's Early Hope'
Cercis chinensis 'Kay's Early Hope'
Cercis chinensis 'Kay's Early Hope' is a selection of Chinese Redbud that forms a small tree or large shrub, has a profusion of pink-lavender flowers, and has deciduous, heart shaped leaves. Cercis chinensis 'Kay's Early Hope' is a JCRA release named for the late, great NC State women's basketball coach and has exceptionally heavy flower production over a long time period. Chinese Redbuds are awesome to begin with, and 'Kay's Early Hope' is even more awesome! 'Kay's Early Hope' will flower from a tiny, rooted cutting and will amaze you by the incredible masses of flowers it produced. When not in bloom, 'Kay's Early Hope; has beautiful, heart shaped leaves during the summer and decent tannish gold fall color. Thanks to Mike Chelednik for use of his photos of 'Kay's Early Hope' in the landscape.
