'Yuki Gessho'
'Yuki Gessho'
Hydrangea paniculata 'Yuki Gessho' is a heavily white variegated Peegee Hydrangea with clusters of white flowers in late Spring to early Summer. Hydrangea paniculata 'Yuki Gessho' is a fast growing, deciduous shrub with stunning white variegated leaves and is best grown in bright shade for best color. 'Yuki Gessho' is grown primarily for its heavily white variegated leaves but it does produce small clusters of white flowers in late Spring into Summer. Personally, I prefer to grow in just for the leaves and to get best color, I cut my plant nearly to the ground in late winter. The plant responds by putting up very large new shoots with larger than normal leaves and creates a beautiful focal point in our garden. If you never prune 'Yuki Gessho', in time, it will become a large shrub to 12'+ or could even be pruned to make a small tree.
