Ilex x 'Hefcup'

Ilex x 'Hefcup' is a slow growing, golden margined mutation from NRS holly.  Ilex x 'Hefcup' was discovered by Randy Hefner of Hefner's Nursery, Conover, NC and a branch mutation on NRS holly and has green leaves with golden margins and often produces solid gold branches as well.  Ilex x 'Hefcup' and Ilex x 'Phillip Watson' have very similar variegated leaves and both are mutations of NRS holly - the primary difference is 'Hefcup' is much slower growing and might be more suitable to areas where a larger holly would be too big.  'Hefcup' makes an interesting, slow growing specimen or could be used in mass plantings.
