Phormium 'Apricot Queen'

Phormium 'Apricot Queen' is an evergreen perennial with long green leaves with gold colored central stride.  Phormium 'Apricot Queen' is a beautiful selection of New Zealand Flax with green leaves with a bold central stripe of gold that will age to have an apricot blush and is suitable for in ground landscapes in warmer parts of the west coast and makes a great container plant in other areas.  Phormium are notoriously difficult to grow in the eastern USA but we have no problems growing them in containers but have not been able to grow the majority of them in the ground here.  They seem to dislike our Winters and our Summers if planted in the ground, but appear to thrive if grown in containers.  Bring inside into a sunny location during the winter months.
