Styrax grandifolius

Styrax grandifolius (Bigleaf Snowbell) is a small deciduous tree with very large leaves and racemes of white flowers.  Styrax grandifolius is native to North Carolina and is found as an understory tree in dry upland hardwood forests.  Styrax grandifolius is fairly slow growing and makes a beautiful, bold specimen in a bright woodland garden or sunny area in your garden.  The large leaves of Styrax grandifolius make a very bold statement in the garden and the tree is stunning when its branches are covered with racemes of pendulous, bell shaped, white flowers.  A choice southeast native tree.
